Gabor Olah 1
Hey Guys, Is it possible now to send email through Gmail? I'm trying with the attached settings but no luck. Thanks,Gabor
pftg4 102
you need to drag send email command into connect to server command and you should be all set Pftg4
Gabor Olah 1
Just tried it and got this error message: "Unable to connect to mail server" Gabor
JohnB 255
make sure, in your Gmail account settings you have pop enabled. John
Gabor Olah 1
It's enabled, I checked it. Now I tried the "connect to mail server" command alone without the send email and it also gives "Unable to connect to mail server" Gabor
rocket976 62
Make sure your using pop with ssl from the drop down.
JohnB 255
are you using pop.gmail.com and port 995? John
Bobby 14
BTW, I'm using the "send email" WITHOUT the "connect to mail server" and it's working fine (no, I'm not using Gmail - I use my webhostings/domains mail).
Gabor Olah 1
Yes, I use POP w/SSL, pop.gmail.com and 995 and it doesn't work. I also use the send mail with my hosting accounts SMTP. I need this for a commercial bot. Thanks,Gabor
Bobby 14
Thats not right - don't use "pop", use "smtp", because "pop" is for incoming mails and "smtp" for outgoing emails (what you need). So: - Server: smtp.gmail.com- Port 465 OR
UBotBuddy 331
@Bobby You will need to post an image of your screen. Because my version of "send email" node DOES NOT have a place for Ports. Also, in the "connect to mail server" node there is a a Port setting BUT there is NOT an SMTP option. So if you are using UBot to send mail through GMail you need to show us. I spoke to Eddie about this very topic and he told me that the Node will have to be re-written to accomplish that task and still main the current working versions that people are using. Bobby 14
Hm... yeah, you'r right. Than maybe uBot 3.5 had this option?! I don't remember, because I don't use nowadays Gmail for sending emails with uBot. @Gabor Olah: Than I would advise you to use another one (Yahoo, Hotmail, or whatever) OR you can let your bot "manually" logging in into the Gmail-Account and send from there the email, till this "send email" command gets improved. And if you use this "manual"-email-sending with Gmail, than use it's mobile version: http://m.gmail.com , because mobile versions of websites are a lot better for ubot then the normal view. UBotBuddy 331
SHOOT! I thought you had a sneaky way of doing it. Oh Well! Nope v3 never had the Port option either. I know that environment thru and thru.
JohnB 255
Connect to server is only for incoming mail. send mail is for outgoing. Send mail does not currently support GMail (Just incoming at the moment). John
Gabor Olah 1
Thanks for all the replies. I just left out the email sending thing from the bot for now. Gabor
