MiriamMB 63
So I've been reading quite a bit on how that command does not work. We would like to figure out what exactly is going wrong with it and so we need more information. For those who are encountering difficulties, how are you using the command and how is it not working? I need step by step instructions that replicate the issue. Be as specific as possible. Thanks.
MiriamMB 63
If you are having problems with the clear cookies command, please explain how you are using the command and how it is not working for you so that we can get a sense of what is going wrong. Again try to be as specific as possible. Thanks.
Choller 3
What's the best way to try to see if your cookies are cleared?
MiriamMB 63
What's the best way to try to see if your cookies are cleared? Just go to a page that required you to log in. After you log in, run the clear cookies commandrefresh the page. Are you still logged in? If you are, then it did not work. If you are logged out, then the clear cookies command works fine. Choller 3
I tested it and indeed it works.... sometimes. Don't know why. I log into facebook and i run a clear cookie command then the navigate command (to facebook.com) but i'm sstill logged in. What I do now to make it work 100% is to clear cookies, wait 2 seconds, clear cookies and then navigate to facebook.com
UBotBuddy 331
Hey Lilly, This is a becoming a big problem in a couple (actually 3 sites) of bots I am building. 1. I run the Clear Cookies at the very beginning of my bot. 2. I navigate to the websites and login. 3. Almost always, 2 of the three sites that I navigate still have me logged in and my bot fails when it happens. I have added the Clear Cookies node at the end of my bots processing too. But it is like these sites WANT to retain me logged in. The three sites where it affects me the most is YouTube.com (using Google's logging in process), Yahoo.com, and DailyMotion.com. If it's not Flash it's this. LOL Life in the Bot World. Buddy
IRobot 43
One solution would be: if logged in to site then log out clear cookies
JohnB 255
Just as a side note: I have never used that command because any site of mine that requires a login I add a simple IF/Then statement right after navigation to see if it's already logged in. If necessary I have it log out, otherwise I just continue with the next commands. It has always worked (i.e. If--->search page--->"logout", etc) John
UBotBuddy 331
I am all for that logic EXCEPT one of my sites still does not show me as being logged in even though the login screen appears. So testing is a mute point at that point. For instance, many times on the YouTube site you need to sign out twice. Why? And even then I have gone right back into the site and the login window appears twice. In this case the cookies have gone beserk. The reality is that its not always predictable. That is the crazy thing.
