Chorme + Fiddler

Sockets Recorder Don't Working.

The only thing that explains that is the port that fiddler uses is busy!

try to disable all the softwares like skype , captcha sniper ...etc and if that didn't work , reinstall fiddler and socket code generator

Is this on Windows 8.1? Worth the shot asking because I see a lot of software not working with it.

Ok well I just checked again..

Now it does not record for me as well.

I open fiddler, have ALL other apps closed.
Open up Socket Code Gen & as soon as I click "Start Recording" it seems to change some proxy settings on my machine, and then google chrome stops working.
it wont load pages.

You don't have to open fiddler , keep fiddler closed , just make sure it is installed!

Yes, Even when I don't have fiddler open, 

I navigate chrome to the site i wish to record headers on, then click the record button & chrome stops working..

 It seems that your software is changing chromes proxy settings.

Once i click "stop recording" my proxy settings go back to normal, and chrome works fine.

 

Also, fiddler works fine when I open it, it records just fine.

But once I click "record" on your software.. fiddler gives a proxy error.

Do you try to sniff a https connection? If yes, have you installed the fiddler ssl certificates?

 

Try to sniff the communication from your browser first. If you can see that traffic (unencrypted) in fiddler, then everything is setup correctly.

Don't test with socket code generator until this is all working.

you will get a couple of warnings because Fiddler will install some new root certificates.

 

After that's done, you have to restart all your apps. Chrome and fiddler.

Then test it again with https connection in chrome. When that's working it should work with socket code generator as well

Is Fiddler working without Socket Code generator? Can you sniff all connections?

If you open fiddler and start recording from Socket code generator you won't be able to as the port fiddler uses will be already busy with fiddler application !

So you should use either fiddler or the socket code generator!

Yes I allowed that, The Socket Code Gen header recorder worked for me when I first used it.
 

Then one day it stopped working.

 

& no i dont use proxies.

to be honest i don't see why it shouldn't work , if you can tell me what you did differently to cause it to stop working i may be able to find you a fix for that !

I've asked more then once for someone to post screen shots or PM me screen shots of their internet settings in THIS post.

I think it has to do with internet settings.

What type of connection do you have ? dial-up , broadband ... Your settings look jacked up. All i have checked is "Automatically detect settings" ... Nothing under proxy settings since i don't use proxy. Do you use proxy for some reason ? Seems strange to me that you would need to use that.

Yeah same here.
I'm on a 50mb line. & DONT use proxies or VPN.

 

This is why i wanted to see what peoples settings are.
If you look at the port of the proxy in my image, its the same port that fiddler uses. 

I think its setup once you install fiddler?

As there would be no reason to use 127.0.0.1 (localhost) as a proxy lol.

 

As stated tho, fiddler works fine, it captchas headers just fine. Its when i close fiddler and try to use SCG to record that my browser stops working.

Just check automatically detect settings. Uncheck proxy . Restart IE and it will work.
