Choose a date with UBot?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm doing my first steps with the UBot software and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

I tried to find a solution to the problem I'm about to present in the tutorials and the forums but haven't found anything that could help.

As part of a bot I'm building, I'm trying to automate the action of choosing a date in a form.

A good example will be the following search form in Kayak.com

http://www.kayak.com/

Let's say that I want to choose a departure date - I know one way to do this - choose the departure date attribute and then add "change chosen attribute" -> value -> the desired date.

But what are my other options here? Are there any UBot commands other than "change chosen attribute" that can perform the same action?

What about picking the date from the calendar that pops when clicking on the departure date field?

I tried to implement popping the calendar by clicking on the departure date field (choose attribute -> click chosen) but with no success. Any tips on this one?

Thank a lot,

Doron.

I think this is the best way.

Clicking on the little button and selecting in that way is so much overhead it just doesn't make sense to do it. It is probably possible just not practical unless of course you have other reasons.

Yeah, that's the way I originally intended to implement it, however the website I'm actually working on (Kayak.com was just an example) doesn't process the value change of the date attribute and gives me an error. This is why I wanted to know if there's any other command in UBot that changes the value of a given field (like a form command or something like that).

Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply.

It depends on the site as well as the object being targeted. UBot offers many nodes that are powerful and the flexibility is quite impressive. So I say jump in and try stuff.

It's like my grandmother used to tell me. "There are many ways to skin a cat."
