HaHaItsJake 25
What do you find the hardest/longest thing about bot creation? I'm just trying to connect with the community, I find the Error handling is the longest part. You never want a bot to just not work without a reason, am I right? Going threw step by step testing 1000 different ways to make sure you get all the errors you can for pre-launch. (Especially the Proxy Error for the first time.)Or do you just not do this? Hahaha Your opinions on what you think is the hardest/longest about bot creation? Regards,HaHaItsJake
Code Docta (Nick C.) 638
You wanna catch as much as you can. But, you will be there forever if you try to get'm all. Pre-launch, get beta testers- they will find stuff you never even imagined. It's a never ending journey, some stuff can wait. Get it out thereCall it a betaHave 5-10 people test- recommend for freeReassess, then figure out the launch date if you feel it is ready else, stays in betsCustomer service is #1 You will always find bugs and improvements. Make sure it does what it says on the sales page. It's ok if it's slow you can refactor as it grows. Start simple and let your users guide you. You may not like it but you are not the real user. They will not appreciate it in the same way you do. Trust me, you will get feedback and some of it will surprise you.Throw ideas at them and get there pulse before any major changes of yours. They love that. It is impossible to please everyone. Nothing wrong with trying. After all they are the reason you are a Developer. Never be above them!!! Keep you feet on the ground...Good Luck! CD
HaHaItsJake 25
CD, excellent advice. That's my problem though, I'm a perfectionist =/ one of my weakness. I been trying to move away from error logging, but each time I run it it's a new error somewhere. So it's not really trying to get all the errors per say, but the major big ones that could/can screw everything up. Getting there with the basic. I'll be starting up a thread for beta testing with the top dogs here on the forums once I get it ready for beta. Still got to put 3 major features and update 2 with this software. I must say, I'm impressed with my work with just being a new Ubotter haha. Wanna beta test it? It's along the lines of IM and useful for the main site users as-well.
