APTS 3
I am having difficulty installing UBot 5.9.50 on my new laptop. For some reason, not all of the required files and folders are being downloaded and/or written to the disk. Here are the steps that I have tried:Begin by uninstalling UBot,delete or rename the AppData\Roaming\UBot Studio folder, reboot computer, connect to my UBot account and download the .msi installer file;launch the installer filer which begins by "Downloading base files", and the progress indicator appears which seems to take the usual amount of time to "Download Support Files", about 4 or 5 minutes to download,When it finishes downloading the files, the License Activation dialog box appears. At this point, I take a look at the properties of the newly created AppData\Roaming\UBot Studio folder and I can see that it has 182 MB, 137 files and 4 folders. This is consistent across the computers where UBot is working, and the one computer where it is not working. After entering the Username and Password into the License Activation box on the working computers, the additional files and folders continue to be downloaded and when complete shows 807 Files and 41 Folders; After entering the Username and Password into the License Activation box on the non-working laptop, the additional files and folders do not continue to download. Instead the program just hangs and says "Loading UBot Studio" but nothing happens. I opened a support ticket with UBot and they suggested copying the AppData\Roaming\UBot Studio from a working computer and replacing the incomplete folder on the non-working computer. This doesn't seem like the correct answer because it overlooks the problem if why the complete folders don't download and install in the first place. That being said, I tried this suggesting and it did not work for me. Instead of the program hanging while at the point of "Loading UBot Studio" using up about 88MB of memory, now the program hangs at the point of saying "Starting UBot Studio..." and is using about 115MB of memory. But it never continues to close the splash screen and start the program. There are no firewall exceptions on any computer where UBot is working. I have tried both with and without a specific UBot firewall exception on the problem computer and it makes no difference. It also makes no difference when I try modifying the options.xml file from false to true like this: <BypassFileDownload>false</BypassFileDownload>to<BypassFileDownload>true</BypassFileDownload> I've tried everything I can think of and just can't get the program to download and install correctly. I'm hoping that someone from this great community can help to solve this problem that UBOT Support has so far been unable to figure out. Thanks,Dan Edited June 24, 2017 by APTS
HelloInsomnia 1103
Ensure you have dotnet latest and also I can't remember if it installs previous versions but you may also need 4.
APTS 3
Thanks for the suggestion. I run this command: dir %WINDIR%\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v* and it says that I have the following frameworks installed: v1.0.3705v1.1.4322v2.0.50727v3.0v3.5v4.0.30319 When I try to install v4.5 I get an error message saying "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is already part of this operating system. You do not need to install the .NET Framework 4.5 redistributable." I don't think this is the problem because other working computers have similar dot net frameworks installed.
