Chris M 55
Does anyone have a reliable source to check domain availability on the fly? I've tried GoDaddy and NameCheap but they limit searches and have captchas. Just wondering if there is an API or another service to top in to that I can includein one of my bots for checking domains on the fly?
arunner26 51
cmmorris1,Your question raises another interesting question. How do GoDaddy and NameCheap determine domain availability? You might want to research that question and if possible, do what they do.
Chris M 55
Because they are domain registrars they get access to that. You can pay a monthly fee for some services to do this but I'dmuch rather see if anyone has a work-around. I'm just learning Namecheap has an api but it has limitationsthat are locked to your IP address and API key so you can'tdistribute a bot with those conditions. You can scrape 500 urls at a time using GoDaddy bulk checkerbut after a few times you get captchas. I'm searching hundreds of thousands of domain names at a time. itexspert 47
I don't see an issue here you Solve captcha using DeathByCaptcha it costs 7$ which is nothing you can tell your customers to get an account and put it in compiled version.
Bill 7
You try this one http://www.domainhole.com/bulkcheck/
Chris M 55
Thanks Bill. I've already tried that site and it's completely useless. As for integrating DBC or something that may be a possibility but thereis another tool that I found that has a feature like this in their tool andthey're hitting multiple whois sites it looks like. Maybe something I can integrate. Keep them coming in the meantime. Thanks guys!

RiTu 5
I'm using the whois API from https://www.whoisxmlapi.com/ - it's cheap and works great.
Monovski 4
I use scrapebox for do that
Chris M 55
Scrapebox is unreliable for that. It has a lot of false positives on availability. I've bought a bulk domain script for $10 on Codecanyon for this. Works goodbut a little slow.
DavidM 3
https://www.whoisxmlapi.com/ is what I use with my bots. It's cheap and fast. However, you can also use Namecheaps API. Moniker and Namesilo also have one. A very expensive but good API is Domaintools.com Your just looking for availability right? Or are you looking for the whole whois record parsed? If so then https://www.whoisxmlapi.com/ is really your best bet. Hope that helps.
Chris M 55
Just if available. At those prices I'd be spending thousands of dollars a month.
