Is there a way to add parts of code to a existing project

I am wondering if there is a way to make another tab and go to open file on ubot and add another section of coding instead of it getting rid of what I am already working on. When I try it that way it gets rid of what I am working on and starts it as a whole new project.

you can copy chunks of code in full loops, define statements copy it put it to a text file and you can add to any other project
