Whatever was changed in UBot 4.1.8 it no longer shows any false positives (was 3/42) on http://virustotal.com/ which is awesome
That's great news ! It's starting to feel like Christmas, and I've now got some great toys to play with

Hi merkaba
Thanks for sharing this very useful information, and for taking the time to go in to the details
Only one quick point, the link to the code from Bliss is incorrect. It should be:
http://www.ubotstudio.com/forum/index.php?/topic/10976-use-hma-to-change-your-ip-and-wait-for-change-without-the-need-for-php-scripts-or-navigating-to-external-website/page__gopid__57690#entry57690

There are a few methods of changing your IP using HMA Pro out at the moment.
Hi Jane
Thanks for the excellent information, I'll certainly be having a look at that offer before the olympics end!

These can be easily done as javascript events..
Here is a good resource that might be helpful:

Hope it helps
Cheers!
Praney
That's a great resource Praney, thanks for sharing it.
Not sure when I'm going to have the time to read the whole 252 pages of it though !

Hey Tony,
Thanks for taking the time to create the tutorial for this.
I just took the survey, and would be waiting to hear some about this soon from you.
Good luck mate.
Praney
Same from me, survey completed, and thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Hi there
Have a bot with a few capthas in it, done the capthas as in the Browser Functions manual and all worked great, about a week ago I started getting this message, if someone could shed a bit of light it would be great.
Thanks Barry
Error: API server error occured
Source: Bot Name> > type text > $solve captha
"Continue" "Stop Script"
Hi Barry
What happens if you try to navigate to the same server in a browser, do you get the same error? This would eliminate ubot as the problem.
Phil
PS: Noticed you're in Cape Town, I spent a while living in the northern suburbs and would go back tomorrow if I could !

Search within the Code View window.
Why should I have to copy and paste into my own text editor to do this?
...I agree with this, and search/replace would be very useful too.
Search within the Awesomium view source (Edit | Find)
...but not sure what you mean here, am I missing something?

Okay it took me a few months to learn enough (while working full-time) and produce a bot that actually earned me some money, but today it finally covered its costs. Most of which was made over the weekend.
Need to carry on working on the site and bot till hopefully it starts making enough to cover my income lol.
Sounds like a very good start to me ...and also that you are using ubot to improve the revenue from your own site. Now, rinse and repeat, with more sites !

Hi guys,
I purchased ubot yesterday and installed it on my pc.
I understand i can also install on my laptop too. Is this correct?
Also i tried to log in to my account and have forgotten my password. Normally there is an option to reset password. Am I going blind or is there not one?
Hi Kris
Which account can you not log in to?
I'm not staff, and it's a while since I had a similar issue, but as I recall you should have two logins/passwords. One for the product (ubot), and one for support/forum. They are not the same, so are you using the right one?
Yes, you can install it twice, on two machines (whether they be both laptops, both pc's, one of each, or whatever). Only on a practical point of view here, I've found from experience it's best to make sure that you only use one at a time, or at least be careful to make sure that you keep them running the same version, because if you update one and not the other, it can cause issues.
John B is the man who can help you further on this, as I'm sure he will when he see's this thread. Another point that new members often raise is the question of how to raise the one post a day limit, or to be able to send PM's. (perhaps this should be part of the 'welcome to the ubot forum' email, if it isn't already?) Again, John has the answer, unfortunately I can't help there, except to say it seems to be a common issue from new members.
Welcome to the group, and hope you find it enjoyable, and profitable !

Brilliant Kreatus, thanks for sharing that one ! +1
...just shows that javascript can often provide the solution

Hi Phil
Not only is Merkaba right, but if you hunt around the forum I'm sure you'll find enough examples and tutorials to head you in the right direction. I know the search function here can be pretty iffy, I always go back to the home page of the forum ( Click on 'Ubot Underground' at the top of the page) before doing a search, otherwise it sometimes just searches the thread you are in !
Only extra advice I would give is to make sure you are aware of the limitations of the different versions, ie standard, pro, and dev. I wouldn't want to suggest that everything you might want or need to do can be done with any specific version and therefore lead you into a purchase under false pretences.

I.E. copy the code from the Code View and create a comment node in the Nove View and paste it there.
That's a useful work around Praney, still a bit of a cludge, but it works well !

What do you say?
I say "Yes Please !!!"
I don't know if anyone takes any notice of voted up posts, but if everyone who want's to see the include command brought back concentrates on voting for one particular thread as opposed to the many spread around the forum on this particular subject, let's make this one the one to vote up ! +1
Praney, would you care to edit your post to include a link to the previous thread, which started this one and has some good observations in it?
Phil

Yes thats right, but the only thing stopping someone from stealing your code is changing the extention back to .ubot
What about zipping it with a password, use shell/ to unzip using the command line as the bot starts up, and then delete the unzipped file when finished. Just a thought? You don't even have to call it include.zip, for example call it include.mif (My Include File) to mimimise prying eyes, and if anyone want's to open it in a hex editor, well, you aren't going to stop them whatever it's hidden as!
If you really want to get paranoid about it, then hide it inside an image file

Hi Ant
Both Odeesuba and Merkaba have raised good points there, along the same lines that I have found too.
If, as you say, you can't (as yet, but will do one day) identify a specific bot to write to fulfill a function because of x,y,z, then approach it from a different perspective. You sound to have knowledge of the IM field, therefore why not choose an avenue in that which you feel happy with, and run with it. I'm sure that quite quickly you'll find a requirement for a bot to help you with automating repetitive tasks, or scraping, auto-posting, or whatever.
This will help you to write a bot that does exactly what you need it to do, without having to worry about how others might use it, or making it customer friendly etc. And if you are using it on a regular basis, then you'll also find that you will tweak it to improve it or add more features, to the point that before you know it, you have a well proven and established product, and one that has actually earned money during it's development.
Unless you have a clear, well defined proposal to provide a solution to a specific problem, then I think it's much harder to try to fit a solution to what you have to use or can acheive with ubot. Rather than put the cart before the horse, let the need to provide a solution to a defined problem drive you to provide a remedy to that problem. From experience, if you start off thinking 'I've got all of this functionality and commands available in ubot, what can I write with it?', you'll never stop until you've used every command at least once (just because you can), and therefore the bot will never be finished.

Nope!
I am hoping they bring back the "Include" node. I want to store my bots that way on my own resources.
I second you Buddy!
Not a fan of using the Private Bot Bank after loosing hours of work.
Include command was great, hope to see it back.
Same for me guys, not having the 'include' is definitely a step backwards in my opinion too, which seems to be the con-census from those who appreciated it in v3.5. In my own opinion, the private bot-bank is something that could have been in an earlier version, which would then have evolved in to the 'include' command. Seems like we've taken a step backwards in this respect.
The problem is though, that v4 has a great many improvements over v3.5, and to give credit where it is due, the dev team (or should that be dev person?) has to be congratulated on providing a platform which in many ways is far superior. Unfortunately, it also incorporates some features and functionality which have not only stayed the same as they were, but have actually gone one step backwards!

Thanks for the share Gogetta, nice one. +1

Split your work in small tasks and save every time you finish one of those tasks.
This is a very good habit to get in to. In addition, every time I start a new session for example first thing in the morning, after lunch etc, I always start by saving the current version as a new one, ie MyNewBot_18 becomes MyNewBot_19, and write in my notes what stage I'm at and what I'm currently working on.
I know ubot has a habit of falling over on a regular basis, but regular version control also covers my own 'mistakes' when I decide to make changes and then find out later I'd wish I hadn't !

Same for me ! Any news please? - I've allowed both ubotstudio and the compiled app access through windows firewall, no difference.
