Getting CCleaner To Work With UBot

Recommended Posts

To get current version of CCleaner (v 3.19) to work in a UBot script, you need to do this:

shell(C:\Program Files (x86)\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe /AUTO)

This was mentioned in a few threads here and in the CCleaner About section.

But, this alone doesnt work. What you need to do is right click on CCleaner.exe/CCleaner64.exe and give CCleaner full admin rights in the Compatibility and Security tab. You may also have to run UBot in administrator mode. You can read more detailed info on how to set CCleaner rights here.

Note that in AUTO mode, the CCleaner window will not appear. Instead, the process is run in the background performing the analysis and removal. It will take whatever settings you have enabled so make sure you look that over before automating.

To prove to yourself it is working:

Run CCleaner. Click analyze to see what's going to get trashed. Do not press the Run the cleaner button. Close it down. Bring up task manager. Then, run a one liner Ubot script on the shell command above. You should see CCleaner quickly run as a process in the task manager and then disappear.

Run CCleaner again and press the Analyze button. You should see there is nothing to analyze proving that it worked.

Update:

Forgot to mention. This will not clear out UBot's own browser data as CCleaner doesn't know anything about it.

Doesn't work with 3.22.1800

With or without administrator privileges it doesn't do anything on my side.

Without administrator privileges set it doesn't do anything, but with administrator privileges enabled it gives an error (see screenshot).
