UBot and Sandboxie

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I bought UBot recently - a real timesaver but I am a little bit confused. The UBotDevTool.exe seem to close it self, if the exe is started with Sandboxie.

With Sandboxie, UBot is heavly increased by security.

Because the whole application is running in a sandbox.

Since UBotDevTool.exe seems to be affect by same security holes like the Internet Exlorer, I want to proctect my computer running Sandboxie.

But no luck. Trying to start UBot with sandboxie fails on my computer.

Thats a little bit scary, browsing the internet unprotected.

Is "auto closing UBot" a kind of anti hack machanism?

Anyone experience running UBotDevTool.exe in a virtual machine?

Ubot runs in its own Sandbox. I don't think it appreciates having a Sandbox run within a Sandbox :P All kinds of hooking issues probably happening, something somewhere broke, and it just said "Fuck it, close".

I don't believe that Ubot is compatible with Sandboxie. See: http://ubotstudio.com/forum/index.php?/topic/2569-sandboxie-issues/

If you want Ubot support within Sandboxie, you will need to contact it's developer(s), and ask for it.

One way of increasing the security of Ubot, is to change your Internet Explorer settings and make sure that you have all the latest MS critical security updates.

Also, make sure you have good anti-virus and a firewall on your system and you should be Ok.
