What Software Do You Think Poeple Moved To ?

Lets face it this forum is almost dead -

I don't think I've ever seen a post by a Dev

The Last piece of news was 3 years ago.

I can only assume the people left who occasionally drop by are those trying to eek out as much as they can from their MOD's and tutorials like the power company's with fossil fuels before the inevitable shift to renewable's.

I did consider buying the Dev upgrade but I would be stupid to as I have no idea if it will be supported in a weeks time, let alone 2 years.

I feel like a total idiot caught in a content trap, I should have heeded the warnings from BHW on Seth's uBot thread. But that's life.

I'll use UBot as much as I can until its not fit for purpose and I've already paid for ExBrowser which I see will be a standalone soon, at least that will be worth continuing with.

So  the question is what did all those people who use to be so enthusiastic on the forum swap to?

I'm guessing its just learn Python full stop ?

Hi

I bought ubot in 2014 after waiting for a year and till that time i had joined is forum and reading all posts and i got straightaway dev edition because their presales support was awesome, having absolute zero programming language i had no clue what was going on, till today i regret not joining early like 2010. There is a wealth of information already in the forums, if you keep looking at old posts, u can see how much of activity was already there

Yes people may have moved to new things as everything evolves but there is no other software like ubot and i can tell you you have made a great decision and for me my turning point was buying nick(hellinsominia) stuff, i have learnt a lot from him and if you look at his consistency  how many posts he has made since 2012 or so, how many free tutorials he has made, you can feel inspired and grateful and digging through all that info and implementing in your own bots itself will take you a lot of time.

even yesterday i was reading one of the old posts shared in forums which ive not seen before and that helped me where i was stuck

yes even there are other people like dan, tj, buddy. dan has done awesome job with exbrowser and you are not going to get all this in any other software like zenooposter or anything else.

The hard part is things change very fast in the web marketing world and thats where u may feel a bit overwhelmed in the beginning because some will say use regex, some posts will say use xpath, some will say use http post  and over time im sure if u are already a expert in programming then u can easily understand all this and u will figure out where to use what

This is a great question.I wss simply looking for a way to automate a few things. Im not a programmer but i have always wanted to learn how. I figured this would give me a head start. After i purchased it, i also noticed that the forum is not that active. Im just using the standard version and I will try to get my use from it, but I also wonder what everyone else is using?

This is great information. The reason I got this program was to help with automating my twitter post and to look for people to help with my business. From the looks of it, what I'm needing is not too advanced. I actually found a guy on YouTube who uses Ubot Studio the same way im planned on using it. His video was a recent one to, like this month. Since technology is changing so fast, it was great to see this product was still relevant today! There is still hope for me :D :D :D :D !

I have not, however, I have watched a few of his videos on YouTube! You are indeed correct, he has some good stuff! To me a lot of the stuff he is talking is gibberish, because I'm not a programmer. But I will get there! Thanks for the link!!

I went through the same thing after purchasing ubot. I bought into the negativity and stopped using it altogether. This was several years ago, and after coming back to it I regret buying into all the negative BS because had i just stuck with it id have accomplished so much more.

Instead I bought every other tool and slowly learned that none of them are perfect. Then I tried python and c# and found it's just as much of a hassle if not more keeping up with a programming language.

There are no perfect solutions. Don't let other's unrealistic expectations turn you into a shiny-things chaser.

Out of the 6 automation tools on my PC Ubot is still my go-to, but even then it isn't the only one I use, and never will be because in automation there's the golden rule that 2 is 1 and 1 is NONE.

It's important to have redundancies and to find backup solutions. Finding the perfect solution is irrelevant. Find solutions you are willing to suffer through because NONE of them are perfect.

The forum may seem like a dead place, but

RPA is a booming multi-billion dollar industry that is just getting started. It's the golden age for automation.

Even though ubot has it's head up it's ass it's still an incredibly useful automation software that will benefit from the renewed interest in RPA. It's not going anywhere.

I agree it is , it has its limitations though and I think I need to learn a bit of C# to get around some tasks.

If I could make a native plugin for AHK so that it bundles with my application on delivery then I will be happy.

Here's something fun: Dan's Exbrowser plugin actually uses AutoIT to make his plugin work. So yeah, you should absolutely be looking into c# and other automation programs like AHK to produce your programs. Because why??? If it works it works! There is no reason to make your program perfect. Just get it done.  Or, as my favorite tv reality star says "make it happening".

It really is a sad reality .
