Ant 1 Posted July 2, 2012 Report Share Posted July 2, 2012 Hi, I have had Ubot for a number of months now but I don't feel like I am using it to its full potential. I bought Ubot to try and make some extra money but everything I think of seems to have a better alternative already out there. For example I could make and sell bots, but then there is already software out there that proforms better and does more ( bookmarks - social bookmarking robot etc/ blog comments (scrapebox) etc. I could sell services related to SEO but then when you look on fiverr there are people offering thousands of links etc for $5, obviously using senuke or something similar. I just don't think I could make somethign to compete with that. Maybe affilate marketing then..But again, would it not be better to use software that already exists and can preform better to do the backlinking to my money site? Now I know a lot of you are making money with Ubot, so you are obviously benefiting from it somehow. I don't expect someone to tell me exaxtly how to make money with Ubot, but what I am looking for is a starting point or someone tell me what I should be focusing on first. Many thanks for any helpAnt Here is an idea that can make you money without selling your bots, you can give your bots free when someone buy from your affiliate link. The trick is to make your bot specific to the offer. Let us take an example. You go searching for products that are selling well, and join as an affiliate. Example http://www.woothemes.com/affiliates/ it is a word press themes website that pays you $50 + $5 pm for the developer package.Their themes do not update directly in wordpress, you have to download the updated theme and install to your wordpress manually. What if you made a bot that makes it easy for people who buy that package to 1) Download all the themes.2) Check for updates daily and download the updates3) One click install of any of the themes 4) Easy upgrade when the themes get upgraded. I think people would buy through your link to get that bot. This can be duplicated to any affiliate program, the bonus that you offer people would be the most relevant. Another example what if you are promoting a book or a course that is teaching a specific method of doing stuff. Internet marketing is saturated, if there's a write up on how to do something then someones already automated it and is probably selling it for $5. So I'm looking at writing bots for brick and mortar places where a bot can simplify/streamline pesky tasks. Right now the offers I have for some of them, I can pretty much pay for a dev license with 1 bot. Trying to market things to people who already know what they're looking for will always be a PIA. Finding people completely unaware that what they're doing can be done better/quicker/smarter and make them more $$$. I'll drop this since I'm no longer planning on doing this. It's an option and is pretty lucrative. Hit up local restaurants with outdated web pages. Offer to redo them and offer seo services/social marketing to the tune of $xxx a month. Make a couple of bots, including account creations on review sites etc and have them drop positive reviews on all of them. Your client will think you crap rainbows. I'd say with 3-4 clients you'd easily pay for ubot several times over the first month. Scale,change,modify this and you're set if you're 100% on IM and SEO. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

If, as you say, you can't (as yet, but will do one day) identify a specific bot to write to fulfill a function because of x,y,z, then approach it from a different perspective. You sound to have knowledge of the IM field, therefore why not choose an avenue in that which you feel happy with, and run with it. I'm sure that quite quickly you'll find a requirement for a bot to help you with automating repetitive tasks, or scraping, auto-posting, or whatever. This will help you to write a bot that does exactly what you need it to do, without having to worry about how others might use it, or making it customer friendly etc. And if you are using it on a regular basis, then you'll also find that you will tweak it to improve it or add more features, to the point that before you know it, you have a well proven and established product, and one that has actually earned money during it's development. Unless you have a clear, well defined proposal to provide a solution to a specific problem, then I think it's much harder to try to fit a solution to what you have to use or can acheive with ubot. Rather than put the cart before the horse, let the need to provide a solution to a defined problem drive you to provide a remedy to that problem. From experience, if you start off thinking 'I've got all of this functionality and commands available in ubot, what can I write with it?', you'll never stop until you've used every command at least once (just because you can), and therefore the bot will never be finished. I think I have been focusing too much on the idea that you have got to use Ubot just to make a backlinking bot.
